January Newsletter

Covenants Enforcement: Numerous infractions of the Idlewild Restrictive Covenants have recently been brought to the Board'sattention. We recommend that each Idlewild homeowner take a few minutes to review their copy of the Covenants. It's easy overtime to forget some of the provisions that we all are contractually bound to observe. If you cannot find your copy of the Covenants,you can get a copy from the Register of Mesne Conveyances in the Sumter County Courthouse for a nominal fee. Some of the issues that have been cited include:
  • erecting outbuildings, fencing/walls or other structures without the written consent of the Architectural Review Committee;
  • parking boats, trailers, campers, or other non-self propelled vehicles (commercial or non-commercial) or trash cans in front of or beside homes rather than in the rear of the home;
  • keeping inoperative vehicles on a property for longer than a thirty (30) day period;
  • parking oversized and commercial vehicles in a manner other than in back of the residence and out of view of the street.

We remind all Idlewild Homeowners that if they allow tenants to rent, lease or otherwise live in their Idlewild home, the tenants are subject to our Restrictive Covenants as well, and should be provided with a copy before taking occupancy. Going forward, your Board plans to meet on the second Thursday evening of each month. If you have issues you wish to address to the Board, please forward them by mail to the appropriate board member, below. We will do all we can to resolveinfractions of our Covenants. Please keep in mind that all issues of civil law (traffic issues, leash law, noise, etc) are not under thepurview of the board to enforce, and should be addressed to the appropriate civil authorities.

Please check it out and give your input. Also, please send your(legibly written) email address with your dues payment so we can improve our communications flow online.
